The life of farmed salmon starts in fresh water in a land-based facility.
At our hatchery in Salangen, we produce hatchery right from the roe stage. Here we have established a fresh water recycling plant with a capacity of six million large-smolts annually.
Produces robust fish
While the smolt is often about 80 grams when it is put into the sea, we choose to let it grow in the onshore plant until it reaches about 250 grams. This makes the fish better equipped to continue life in the sea, while shortening the time in the sea until we have a salmon ready for slaughter.
Advanced water technology
With advanced water technology, we recycle up to 99 percent of our fresh water. This is how we save energy for heating and streamline the use of freshwater resources.
At our fish farm, we currently have 32 employees.
